This 90R mass fusion splicer kit from Fujikura consists of the fusion splicer itself, which is used to splice multiple lengths of fibre optic cable, as well as a carrying case/tray and a separable work tray with space for the cleaver, stripper and battery packs.
The splicer has a wide heating area for up to 12 fibres. The wide electrode gap melts the fibres uniformly and has real-time arc discharge control by analysing the arc's brightness intensity.
The 90R does not have active core alignment mechanisms, however during discharge, fibre surface tensions effects minimise pre-existing offsets.
This splicer features a replaceable V Groove and includes a spare set of 12 fibre v-grooves with electrodes installed and ready to splice. They are replaceable in the field, minimising downtime.
