Description
This OS2 single mode fibre optic cable is a steel wire armoured (SWA) loose tube design, built for external installations where mechanical protection and water resistance are required. It is suitable for direct burial, duct installation and outdoor runs between buildings.
The construction uses a PBT loose tube containing 9/125µm single mode fibres, supported by glass yarn strength members and water blocking elements. An inner sheath with ripcord allows straightforward stripping on site, while the zinc coated steel wire armour provides protection against impact and rodent damage. The outer LSZH sheath supports safer installation in areas where low smoke and halogen free performance is specified.
Typical applications include campus networks, site-to-site links, industrial estates and infrastructure projects requiring OS2 fibre for long distance transmission.
This cable is compatible with standard single mode splicing, termination and jointing hardware. Suitable for use with external fibre enclosures, splice closures and patch panels designed for OS2 networks.
