Description
Excel OS2 9/125 loose tube fibre optic cable is designed for internal and external installations where a durable singlemode backbone cable is required. Common applications include campus links, duct installations, building-to-building connections, and structured cabling backbones in commercial and industrial environments.
The cable uses G.652.D low water peak singlemode fibre, supporting OS2 performance with backwards compatibility to OS1 systems. It is suitable for high bandwidth and long-distance transmission at 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths, with maximum attenuation values of 0.39 dB/km @1310nm and 0.25 dB/km @1550nm.
Each cable is constructed around a central loose tube containing up to 24 colour-coded 250μm fibres, protected by E-glass yarn strength members and a black LSZH outer sheath. The loose tube design helps protect fibres from mechanical stress during installation and operation.
Typical uses include external duct runs, riser routes, data centre interconnects, and telecoms infrastructure where low smoke, flame retardant cable is required.
Compatible with standard singlemode fibre hardware including LC, SC and ST terminations, splice trays, patch panels and fibre enclosures designed for OS2 networks.
