Description
This Excel OS2 9/125µm loose tube fibre optic cable is a corrugated steel tape (CST) armoured external-grade cable designed for installations where mechanical protection and rodent resistance are required.
It is typically used for direct burial, duct installations, and external network runs where standard fibre cables would be at risk from crushing, impact, or vermin damage. The CST armour provides an additional physical barrier without significantly increasing cable diameter or weight.
The cable construction features a central dry PBT loose tube containing up to 24 colour-coded 250µm fibres, compliant with TIA-598-C identification standards. E-glass yarn strength members provide tensile support, while the ECCS steel tape armour enhances crush resistance and durability. A blue LSZH outer sheath allows use in environments where low smoke and zero halogen materials are specified.
This cable is compatible with standard singlemode fibre systems and suitable for splicing and termination using industry-standard components. Ideal for backbone links, campus networks, and external fibre runs where added protection is required.
