Description
This OS2 singlemode 9/125 fibre optic cable is a loose tube design intended for external and internal installations where added mechanical protection is required. It is commonly used for campus links, duct installations and building-to-building connections where singlemode performance and durability are needed.
The cable uses a central PBT loose tube with up to 24 fibres, supported by glass yarn and water-swellable yarn strength members. An ECCS steel tape layer provides additional protection against impact and rodent damage, with an LSZH outer sheath for installations where low smoke and halogen-free materials are specified.
Manufactured to ITU-T G.652.D (low water peak), the cable is suitable for modern OS2 networks and remains backwards compatible with OS1 systems.
The cable is compatible with standard singlemode splicing, termination and jointing hardware, including external enclosures and splice closures. The loose tube design supports long-distance transmission with low attenuation, while the LSZH sheath allows use in areas where fire performance requirements apply.
Suitable for installers needing a G.652.D compliant OS2 fibre cable for duct or protected external runs.
