Description
The Excel OM4 SWA Loose Tube Fibre Optic Cable is a 50/125µm multimode fibre cable designed for external installations where mechanical protection and long-term reliability are required. Its steel wire armoured (SWA) construction makes it suitable for direct burial, duct installations and other outdoor fibre optic network applications.
Built around a loose tube design, the cable incorporates glass yarn strength members and water-blocking elements to protect the fibres from moisture ingress. The soft galvanised steel wire armour provides additional protection against impact, crushing and rodent damage, making it suitable for challenging installation environments.
The black LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) outer sheath offers UV resistance for external use while meeting EN 13501-6 Eca fire performance requirements.
For installation flexibility, the cable includes three polyester ripcords and supports a minimum bending radius of 20x cable diameter during installation and 10x diameter in service. The OM4 fibre is compatible with high-speed multimode network applications and is suitable for use with standard OM4 fibre optic connectivity and termination hardware.
