Description
The Excel OM3 CST Armoured Loose Tube Fibre Optic Cable is a 50/125µm multimode fibre cable designed for installations where additional mechanical protection is required. Its corrugated steel tape (CST) armour provides protection against crushing, impact and rodent damage while maintaining a compact, lightweight construction suitable for a wide range of external fibre installations.
The cable features a dry PBT loose tube containing up to 24 colour-coded 250µm fibres, surrounded by E-glass and water-swellable yarn strength members to help protect against moisture ingress. A blue LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) outer sheath provides low smoke performance and is suitable for environments where fire safety is an important consideration.
Designed for external backbone networks, campus infrastructure, duct installations and industrial environments, the cable combines good handling characteristics with the durability required for demanding installation conditions. Its dry tube construction also simplifies cable preparation compared to traditional gel-filled designs.
