Description
The Excel Enbeam OM4 Distribution Fibre Cable is a tight-buffered 50/125µm multimode fibre optic cable designed for internal building and backbone network installations. Suitable for data centres, enterprise networks and structured cabling systems, it provides OM4 performance while maintaining backwards compatibility with OM3 infrastructure.
The cable construction uses between 4 and 24 colour-coded 900µm tight-buffered fibres, supported by aramid yarn and a central GFRP (Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer) strength member. This design provides good tensile performance and simplifies termination compared to loose tube alternatives, making it well suited to indoor fibre distribution and riser applications.
A black LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) outer sheath helps minimise smoke and harmful emissions in the event of fire, while the cable's B2ca-s1a,d0,a1 CPR classification makes it suitable for installations requiring a high level of fire performance compliance.
