Description
The Excel OM4 CST Armoured Loose Tube Fibre Optic Cable is a 50/125µm multimode fibre cable designed for installations where both mechanical protection and fire performance are important. The corrugated steel tape (CST) armour provides protection against crushing, impact and rodent damage, making it suitable for demanding internal and external environments.
The cable uses a dry loose tube construction containing up to 24 colour-coded 250µm fibres, supported by glass yarn strength members and protected by a black LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) outer sheath. Its compact design allows easier handling and installation while maintaining the durability required for backbone and distribution networks.
With a CPR rating of B2ca-s1a,d0,a1 to EN 13501-6, this cable is suitable for installation in buildings with stringent fire safety requirements, including commercial, public sector and high-occupancy environments. The printed sheath includes Declaration of Performance (DoP) information for traceability and compliance.
The cable is compatible with standard OM4 multimode fibre connectivity, splicing and termination hardware, making it suitable for high-speed fibre optic network deployments requiring compliance with current CPR fire regulations.
