Description
The Excel OM3 SWA Loose Tube Fibre Optic Cable is a 50/125µm multimode fibre cable designed for external installations where direct burial and mechanical protection are required. Its steel wire armoured (SWA) construction provides protection against impact, crushing and rodent damage, making it suitable for underground fibre routes and other demanding outdoor environments.
The cable features a single loose tube containing the optical fibres, supported by glass yarn water-blocking strength members. An internal sheath with three polyester ripcords simplifies cable preparation and stripping, while a layer of soft zinc-coated steel wire armour provides additional protection before the outer LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) sheath is applied.
Designed for reliable outdoor performance, the cable offers water resistance, a wide operating temperature range and an Eca CPR fire classification. It is suitable for direct burial, duct installations and external campus or site-wide fibre networks.
