Description
Draka OM3 SWA Loose Tube Fibre Optic Cable is a 50/125µm multimode fibre cable designed for external network installations where mechanical protection and long-term reliability are required. Its steel wire armoured (SWA) construction provides protection against impact, crushing and rodent damage, making it suitable for direct outdoor deployment and exposed routes.
The cable features a jelly-filled loose tube containing between 2 and 24 fibres, protected by water-blocked E-glass strength members. A UV-stabilised, halogen-free inner sheath is reinforced with 0.9mm zinc-coated steel wire armour before being covered by a second UV-stabilised halogen-free outer sheath. This construction helps prevent water ingress while maintaining durability in demanding environments.
Suitable for LAN and WAN backbones, telecom access networks, fibre-to-the-business (FTTB) and fibre-to-the-building connections, the cable can be installed in ducts, cable trays and external infrastructure routes.
The cable is manufactured in accordance with ISO 11801, EN 50173-1 and IEC 60794-1 standards, ensuring compatibility with standard OM3 multimode fibre connectivity and network hardware.
