Description
This Draka OM4 multi-mode steel wire armoured fibre optic cable is designed for external and internal backbone applications where additional mechanical protection is required. Suitable for LAN and WAN networks, telecom access links, FTTB and FTTO installations, the cable can be installed in ducts, trays and other fixed infrastructure routes.
The loose tube construction uses jelly-filled tubes with waterblocked E-Glass strength members to help protect against moisture ingress and tensile stress during installation. Zinc-coated steel wire armouring provides additional resistance against impact, crushing and rodent damage, making the cable suitable for harsher installation environments.
The cable is manufactured with halogen-free, flame-retardant Afumex® sheathing and complies with CPR Class Eca requirements. It is compatible with OM4 multi-mode systems used in high-speed Ethernet and data centre applications.
Standards compliance includes ISO 11801, EN 50173-1 and IEC 60794-1, supporting use in fibre network installations where recognised industry standards are required.
