Description

This 10GBASE-LR SFP+ optical transceiver supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections over single-mode fibre at distances of up to 10km. Operating at a nominal wavelength of 1310nm, it uses a duplex LC interface with separate transmit and receive fibres.

Designed for compatible 10G SFP+ ports, the module is suitable for switch-to-switch links and connections to routers or servers. Typical uses include enterprise fibre uplinks, data centre connections and campus networks where single-mode fibre is installed.

The module uses a 1310nm DFB laser transmitter and PIN photodiode receiver for 10GBASE-LR optical connections. Its compact, hot-pluggable SFP+ format allows installation and replacement in supported equipment without powering down the host, helping simplify network maintenance and upgrades.

Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM), also known as Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM), is supported through compatible host equipment. Available diagnostic information includes module temperature, supply voltage, laser bias current, transmit optical power and receive optical power, helping with link commissioning and troubleshooting.

Use with duplex single-mode fibre cabling and a matching 10GBASE-LR optical interface at the opposite end. The achievable transmission distance depends on the loss of the complete fibre link, including connectors and splices. This standard-temperature version is specified for operation from 0°C to +70°C.

Transceivers are coded in-house and dispatched from our UK warehouse. Select the compatibility option required for your equipment. Check that the host port supports 10G optical SFP+ operation and the selected transceiver coding before installation. If you need help choosing, contact us with your equipment make and model before ordering.

Stand out with custom branding

Make your transceivers easily identifiable!

We can design and print custom labels for your transceivers, incorporating your company logo, part codes, asset references or project details.

Whether you need your own branding or clearer identification for installation and maintenance, we can tailor the label layout to your requirements.

We are able to provide this service free of charge due to our in-house production team.

Contact our team once you place your order to discuss your artwork and the information you’d like included.

Please note: complex artwork production may add 1-2 days to your lead time.

Tested for reliable connectivity

Compatibility, optical performance and stability checks help ensure your transceivers are ready for reliable operation. We perform the following tests on all our compatible 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceivers.

Host interoperability

Checks module recognition, link establishment and operating information in the intended host equipment.

Ethernet traffic

Passes 10 Gigabit Ethernet traffic through the transceiver to check successful transmission and reception.

Bit error ratio (BERT)

Compares transmitted and received test patterns to measure the proportion of bits received incorrectly.

Optical eye diagram

Examines the transmitted optical signal’s eye pattern to assess waveform quality, including eye opening, jitter and compliance with the applicable eye mask.

Receiver sensitivity

Checks reception as the incoming optical signal is reduced, assessing performance at low received power levels.

Diagnostic verification

Checks that the host equipment can read the module’s diagnostic information and reviews its reported status.
