This corrugated steel tape (CST) armoured OM4 50/125μm loose tube fibre optic cable from Excel is designed for applications that require a high level of mechanical protection. While the cables are flexible and lightweight, they are extremely rugged and provide a high level of protection against rodents.
Construction is based around a silica gel-filled tube containing up to 24 colour-coded 250μm buffered fibre, covered with E-Glass strength members.
The CST cable has also been designed for direct burial - to ensure the correct installation, a sand backfill must be used at all times.
