Description
The Excel OM3 CST Armoured Loose Tube Fibre Optic Cable is a 50/125µm multimode fibre cable designed for installations requiring maximum mechanical protection and enhanced fire performance. Its corrugated steel tape (CST) armour provides protection against impact, crushing and rodent damage, making it suitable for demanding commercial and industrial environments.
The cable is constructed around a dry PBT loose tube containing up to 24 colour-coded 250µm fibres, with fibre identification in accordance with TIA-598-C. Glass yarn strength members provide additional tensile support, while 0.15mm ECCS corrugated steel tape armour protects the cable before it is finished with a black LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) outer sheath.
The cable achieves a CPR classification of B2ca-s1a,d0,a1, making it suitable for installations where the highest levels of fire performance are required. Typical applications include hospitals, transport infrastructure, public buildings, commercial developments and other projects with stringent fire safety specifications.
