This 22AWG 2 pair Belden 8723 equivalent cable is a steel wire armoured (SWA) screened control cable designed for low voltage signal, control and instrumentation applications where mechanical protection and interference resistance are required.
It is typically used in external runs, industrial environments, building control systems, and interconnection between equipment where the cable may be exposed to physical damage or routed outdoors. The combination of individual pair screening and SWA makes it suitable for installations with electrical noise and higher mechanical risk.
Each pair is individually foil screened with a common drain wire, helping reduce crosstalk and external EMI. The stranded tinned copper conductors provide flexibility for termination, while HDPE insulation supports stable electrical performance.
An LSZH inner sheath is combined with a UV resistant LSZH outer sheath, making the cable suitable for outdoor use while maintaining reduced smoke and halogen emissions.
